To begin with, i'd worked on this panel for weeks but only on paper >_> I was working on the powerpoint and the game portion afterwards all the way up till 30min RIGHT BEFORE THE PANEL aiyaaa! To make matters worse, we had a record high of technical difficulties!!! Vista, apparently, is not conducive to Ycon. But the room was packed, the audience was great and had a lot of laughs, and I definitely want to do it again with more mechs, more sex, more lolz, and maybe some lesbians (there were a handful of guys in the room, afterall. which i ttly didn't expect?! BUT THEN AGAIN IT'S A GUNDAM PANEL).

What kind of made me laugh was the fact that it was the same guy who ID'd all the underwear screenshots.

Don't have any pics or vid of the game part, but eve_il got some clips of the lecture part XD;

warning: the panel is more jokes and lolz than actual lecture to the franchise.... it's got a gratuitous amount of personal musings and delicious fanart too XD;

I'm passing out UN fact sheets, intro data, and giving away my UN flag to top speaker. That's my outreach act for the year.

In other news, summer classes are over with, I work mornings at a law office and don't get paid a cent (but I get exp levels and free lunch) and have been shooping like crazy after borrowing an effects book from dust_eden and stumbling upon the salvation software that is NOISEWARE. My lightroom levels are still nub though, but yay free ebooks =P and book-off.

I'm having SUCH a disparity on my desktop vs my main work laptop vs other comps (in office, in parents office etc) and it's driving me NUTs. Errors that look small and basically go unnoticed on my main laptop are GLARINGLY OBVIOUS on other screens despite the fact that I've tried to adjust my moniter brightness settings D: it's pissing me off so much, I think I just may need "beta" viewer for my pics.. ;___;

Regarding Yun Kouga, I really wish there was a more complete reference for THIS ARTBOOK OUTFIT because I REALLY want to do another texture/color fun cos... and traditional persian/kurdish stuff is just so unf. If not that, then maybe I could do my own color versions for Setsuna's first designs. I'm thinking a lot more green than blue, because lol Jihad-kun... With all the green and drab fabrics I have at my house already.... >_>;

Mmm oh man I want to buy the lighter color and make it baby blue... >_>; Blue haro.. too cute.

I'll wait for shipping to go down or more local places to carry them, but the news makes me so happy, I can finally add more to my Haro harem ♥

ycysusanCame over a bit on Wednesday to help with the Marina dress.. though we mostly just lold at random Gintama episodes. I think I will take your advice and make the top one more layer ;___; I want to make this work so badly. This is the first dress I've sewn since 2004.. if I can finish it nicely, I'll have regained some of my confidence in sewing ;___; Don't worry about photos until both location and dress are secured! gaaah!! must... level up...

Though eeveil and kircheis weren't able to come down this weekend there was still a lot of rukus and general BBQ filled nerdery at my place. Before that I had a random adventure getting lost on the way to Old Town (haven't been there in ages!) to finally catch a SDcosplay.org gathering.

So, I didn't go to that singles thing at the Art Museum because last Wednesday I put in the paperwork to adopt a rabbit from the animal shelter and on Thursday I picked him up at Petco with friends :D

To quote one anon, "practically any screencap of this show is an orgasmic wallpaper." The only other time I've seen filters like this on anime it was loveless, which was a pastel orgasm, but still not my taste. Now, here's something masculine and beautiful, here is something that takes the themes I loved in GE999 and other oldschool sci-fi (human vs machine, what is real humanity, etc blah blah) but with such streamlined beauty. Along with Galaxy Railways and Toward the Terra, it's one of my favorite revivals. The art actually reminds me of Kino no Tabi anime as well.

I can see why people can't handle the "emo" though, but he's like a newborn baby with an adult consciousness. What more do you want of him? I'd rather he struggle, that's the hallmark of lit archetypes. Also, Tohru Furuya. You can't lose.

My other current obsession is Gintama. I casually watched this series, but I never really got into the fandom until I got passed the first Takasugi arc :D Really, it was when I heard:

There are several 5-year-plans banging about in my head, a few of which include applying to Asian companies for teaching abroad (no Japanese ones at the time though) that require a Resume Photo. Now, I figure these need to be really nice headshot portraits, but I've looked around for the best place to go.. I don't want to go to a glamour-1hour place in the mall, and other studios cost a bit over what I'd like for a simple headshot... Or should these cost over $20? I'm going to have to scan it anyway, because these are digital applications...

It's painfully obvious how single I am. HAHAHAHA. So, since most online-dating things co$t or are shady, I'm looking around for "singles events." Someone assure me I'm not stupid :x I need to meet more people outside my normal circle of friends. Thinking of going to ITT for an Associates in Computer Aided Design/Drafting. My dad thinks I'm whack because I'm not engineering-inclined, but computers =/= concept engineering. I'm really into the idea, mostly because I still want to go to aviation-aerospace fields...and then let the gov or company pay for a masters in Civil-Military relations.

hahaaha this is the first time I've drunklbogged SO.

It was super fun, spazzing with 4chan/m/ over this week's ep. I love streaming now. Who cares that I dont understand the dialogue, I can gleam a shitton w/o subs. and it's FUN watching the /m/ hiveminds!

I'm also playing the drinking game. sorta. I didn't have booze ready for the episode, so I just drank afterwards. No, I don't think it makes me alcoholic because it's "social" (lol)

There are some days when you have nothing better to think about and something in view triggers it in your head; a memory, a sound bite, a conversation that should have happened or action that shouldn't have been allowed to happen and it reels out of control in your head, spills out through your eyes.

And you want to put it in words so it's on paper instead of on your face --where you can examine it, analyze it, catalog it for future reference-- but at the same time you don't want to put it in words.

(Because it hurts.)

But you find that it leaks into your words anyway, especially when you write.

Well! I'm going to Another Anime Con thanks to the invite by tenousei, and go home to San Diego (permanently separated from Newport) that sunday. So I'll be home in Sunny San Dawg on 20 OCT 2008! (I wanted to stay in newport till november.. cuz i wanted to go to Boston for Halloween ;__; but bitches processed me out super-fast when I was on leave..)

In the meantime i'm getting re-aquainted with the CRAZY that is Facebook.com (I blame my phone) and shooting out resumes to kaplan, princeton review, northrup grumman... whoever may take me. I'm seriously considering moving up to San Jose area, DC camping for a weekend, or applying for teaching jobs in Seoul, Korea after some research and a good recent photo is finished.

So... I'm back in training at OCS, still slightly gimp and with a very bruised reputation but I'm earning back a clean slate..

This is, literally, the maximum sentance aside from getting kicked out. It's quite literally marching around the school grounds for an hour straight and getting beat everytime I miss rightSh-arms saluting an officer or a friendly Drill Instructor wants to have a cordial conversation with my m1 Grand and I... in the grass, sand, or mud..

But I earned every damn one of those 100 demerits. I'd be in the brig if there was one (I think I was in it, though not technically).

Though it may have been a reckless and stupid decision- I dont regret it. Stay tuned if you want the story, I've written enough for a memoir.. or OCS- The Musical.. and I'm going to start sneaking on the comps after taps because.. hell.. I need to.

Oh, and after I finish working off the 100 demerits. I start over from Day One.

It was an EXPLOSION OF PEOPLE, WOW. I was so conked out from allnighter that fri-sat, so I was really out of it on saturday.. But I still had so much fun just chillin and playing photograpimp ^^;

Didn't take as many pics as I thought I would, though there were so many good cosplayers (aside from the sexy people I know personally) good thing quad_0 had some documentary moments on his camera.

I realized later that I must have had a smudge or something on my lens D: there's a white cloud in the SE corner on many pictures before I cleaned it for evanae's schoolboy times... oh how amateur ;_____________________;

I first read Persepolis on one of those whims I had, grabbing every Graphic Novel i hadn't yet read at my local library. Persepolis, a comic memior starring a spirited little girl growning up through the Iranian revolution, was one that really had me laughing and crying in different ways-- and I didn't even know there was a volume 2!

Actually, I randomly struck up a conversation with the clerk at the bookstore (who was reading Persepolis) and found out there was a film made. I had assumed it was live action and I wasn't much interested. THEN, while watching Cartoon Network at godawful time of night I saw the trailer:



I was floored. I need to see this movie...!! one day, one way or another I'm going to see this movie! I love this style!
